Grand Theft Auto IV
April 24, 2008Even if you don’t play video games, you will not be able to escape the media blitz next week that will surround the release of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV. The game features an open world rendition of a ‘New York’ from a criminal’s point of view. The game is rated M for MATURE by the ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) and they mean it. Please please research games for your kids so you know what they are playing. New consoles have parental contols.
Faulty legislation has been deemed unconstitutional (in many states) as government tries to keep these games out of the hands of kids. It’s a parental responsibility. Just as libraries do not filter information, games should be available to whatever demographic they are made for. It’s called Freedom of Speech.
