Family Gaming

July 31, 2007

Over the weekend I ran through two WoW dungeons (Blackfatham Deep and Shadowfang Keep) with my 15 year old son and 3 of his friends. One is in Los Angeles. We communicated via Teamspeak and we had a blast. Ok, so maybe we wiped a few times…..

In Nintendo Power I read a story about how a boy’s grandfather died and he was remembering how he and his grandpa played Zelda together and how his grandpa would call him for hints and tips. He said that gaming brought them closer together.

Families are gaming together more than ever. It means spending time together and having fun -

Suggestions for best family gaming:

Karaoke  or Singstar (Playstation 2) 2 player

Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers (Gamecube) 4 player

Warioware Smooth Moves and Mario Party 8 (Wii) 4 player

Guitar Hero 2 player

Pokemon Pearl and Diamond (Nintendo DS)

For teens:

World of Warcraft (Massively Multiplayer – pc)

Call of Duty 2 (xBox 360) 4 player

We have a Wii

July 26, 2007

The library bought a Nintendo Wii! Susan, the programs director and I are working on some new ideas for the fall so stay tuned!

In other news, I have a new consulting computer – a red hot Dell with DVD burning capability and a plethora of software. I’ll be posting a list of available classes soon.
