Microsoft Office 2007

October 31, 2007

The library has a special consulting computer that has Microsoft Office 2007 on it.  This software includes Word 2007, Powerpoint 2007, Excel 2007, Access and Publisher. We have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 All-In-One-Desk Reference for Dummies that we keep right next to it. If you are job hunting, come in and brush up on your skills. If you need to do a school project, use Powerpoint or Publisher. Did you know you can use Word to make a cool web page? Are you an adult that is taking an online class and needs to take a test? Give me a call at 236-7272 ext. 15 to make an appointment to use this amazing computer.

Latest Library Gaming News

October 31, 2007

Hey!

Starting November 21st and going through December 12th, games club for middle schoolers will start at 3 (if you get off the middle school bus earlier – you can help set up) and go til 5 since our Dungeon Master doesn’t get to the library until 4. D&D has been a big hit – we need to thank Jonathan for all his hard work rolling characters for us. We also have a Wii, Playstation 2 Guitar Hero and Gamecube Super Smash Brothers. We need ideas on new games to buy. The library will also be getting a subscription to Nintendo Power so we can keep up on all the latest games for the Wii.

On Friday mornings, senior Wii bowling is alot of fun….there are now 2 teams vying for top prizes! Top Game, Top Average, Most Improved and Top Team certificates will be given out in December. All are welcome to come and watch or to form a team. Coffee, local newspapers and magazines are available in the community room from 9-1.

Lastly, I want to thank our elementary school gamers who came out and had some fun after school. Some of our best gamers turned out to be the girls and I’m excited that they are into the technology.

Game on!

Halo 3

October 19, 2007

Halo 3 is out  and it is the biggest selling entertainment launch in history. Check out the books that go along with the games: The Flood, First Strike, Fall of Reach and Ghosts of Onyx. Master Chief is a Spartan in the future, trying to stop an alien race (Covenant) from activating the Halos that will release the Flood (disease) and obliterate the universe thus raising the Covenant elite to God status. Yes, actually, it’s a very cool story.
